TO THE SEA

A journey of hope

During these dark times of the Global Pandemic of CoronaVirus, COVID-19, I have been in self-isolation as instructed by our government. Not really inspired to paint during these anxious days, I passed some time and fought off boredom building a crude ship model that I tossed into the Rideau River near my home in Manotick, On. on March 28th 2020.

This solid pine vessel may be small in size but has a big journey ahead as it hopefully makes its way downstream along the Rideau River to the Ottawa River, then west to the St. Lawrence River where it will hopefully travel to some day. It will require the assistance of many if people to get past major hurdles such as dams and natural blockades, but if luck is on our side, it will be found and carried over these obstacles to continue its adventure.

Christened “SANTA CORONA” upon its launch, it might make its way past you, and if it does, and you see it, please take a picture and CONTACT ME HERE and I’ll post these milestones moments as it makes the journey. Only YOU can help this little ship achieve its goal.

If you happen to find it trapped somewhere, please try and free it if it is safe to do so, and try and take a photo and register it with this page. CONTACT ME HERE.

I hope the little boat can make it some distance during these troubling times, riding the waves and currents that nature never stops for anything...life goes on, and hopefully so will Santa Corona.

Thanks and hope to be posting some updates on this page very soon!

Sincerely,

Andrew King
